How is the sleep sack going for you? I keep thinking I should stop swaddling Eliza, but she instantly wakes up as soon as her arms are free. I kind of like getting a full nights sleep and I don't think I would if I didn't have her in her swaddle.

The sleep sack is going well. I had the same concern about night waking. With the swaddle, I would put Ansel down and not only did he go down without a fuss, but he was usually out in less than 5 minutes. It has been a rough past few days; we started on Saturday and it does take Ansel longer to settle himself. He had a couple of days where he woke up at 3 or 4am, but now he is back to sleeping 10 or more hours per night! What gave me the sense of urgency to switch was that Dr. Sears mentioned swaddling can have a negative effect on hip development. He recommends that babies have their legs in a frog-like position at night when they sleep. Ansel is nearly too long for the large velcro swaddle, which made me concerned about the position of his legs. He also began to protest a bit about not having use of his hands in the swaddle.

Michael wraps Eliza in a blanket, she grew out of her swaddle too. She seems ok with it still so we will see how it goes.
